Major Scam in ₹13 Crore Building Construction! Allegations of Poor Quality Work in Kusheshwar Asthan

Use of old bricks, substandard PCC—warning of protest if no investigation is conducted

Serious irregularities have been alleged by local residents in the construction of the “Block-cum-Circle Office Building” being built in the Kusheshwar Asthan (West) block परिसर of Darbhanga district. The project, worth approximately ₹13.41 crore, has been awarded to “Maa Vaishnavi Enterprises.”

Following complaints from locals, a team of RTI activists and social workers inspected the construction site, where several major discrepancies were found.

According to them:

As per standards, a 3-inch layer of local sand was required, but even 1 inch has not been properly used.

Instead of new first-grade bricks, old bricks from demolished structures are being used.

Against the required 4-inch PCC (Plain Cement Concrete), only a 1–2 inch thick layer has been laid.

RTI activist Vinod Kumar Yadav raised concerns, questioning how such large-scale corruption could occur within the block premises without the involvement of officials. He also questioned who permitted the use of old bricks.

Meanwhile, student leader Dilkush Kumar warned that if the construction quality is not improved and a proper investigation is not conducted, a protest movement will be launched.

Social workers Tribhuvan Kumar and Sushil Kumar have demanded a fair and impartial inquiry from the district administration and concerned departmental officials.
