Daughter-in-law assaults mother-in-law in Singhia, victim admitted to PHC
In the Singhia police station area of Samastipur district, Bihar, an incident of assault has been reported from Vasudeva village under Nirpur Bhararia Panchayat. A daughter-in-law allegedly attacked her elderly mother-in-law, leaving her injured.
The injured woman was admitted to Singhia Primary Health Centre (PHC) for treatment by her younger son, Vicky Kumar, and his wife. The victim has been identified as Sohagiya Devi, a resident of Vasudeva village. She was treated by Dr. Rakesh Kumar.
According to Vicky Kumar, his elder brother Ravan Kamti’s wife, Babita Devi, assaulted their elderly mother with an intention to kill. He stated that the incident occurred due to a dispute over land.
Station House Officer Shyam Kumar Mehta said that information about the assault has been received, and appropriate legal action will be taken after investigation.
